ABOUT THE COURSE

The AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting (AQ2022) is an entry-level qualification that provides foundational knowledge in accounting and finance. It covers key areas such as introduction to bookkeeping, principles of bookkeeping controls, principles of costing, and the business environment. This course is ideal for beginners looking to start a career in accounting or progress to higher-level qualifications.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Topics covered can include:

  • Introduction to bookkeeping
  • Principles of bookkeeping controls
  • Principles of costing
  • The business environment

WHAT WILL I NEED?

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (A*C) including English and Maths or the equavilent

  • All applicants must have an initial assessment and interview to confirm that the course is suitable for them.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

You will be continuously assessed through skills tests and exams.

All end of unit assessments are externally assessed.  You must pass all the 4 unit assessments to be awarded a grade (70-79 for a Pass, 80-89 for a Merit or 90+ for a Distinction). The marks achieved in the individual units contribute to your overall grade.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

If you will be aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31st August prior to the start date of your course and you have the legal right to remain in the UK for the duration of your programme then your study with us will be free. Please see here for the documents you will need to show us.

WHAT CAN I DO AFTER?

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to a Level 3 course or an apprenticeship.
