Apprenticeship Summary

The Army and Navy Club is a Private Members Club in St. James's, London. The Club is not open to the general public. The members of the Club are mainly serving or retired officers of the Armed Services, and their immediate relatives. The Club is now also open to professional and business members.

There are 76 bedrooms, and the Club offers a range of fine dining, traditional and brasserie-style food, in the 2 restaurants and 2 bars. Facilities are also available in their 8 function rooms catering for meetings, and weddings providing extensive banqueting offerings from sandwich lunches to bespoke dinners, canapes, bowl food, working lunches, hot and cold buffets, 'Bar BQs' and picnics.

Requirements and Prospects

  • GCSE English and Maths grades A-D / 3-9 (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Cookery/Food Tech is desirable

Further Information

In this position you would 5 days out of 7 with 4 days at the club and 1 day at Westminster Kingsway College, you will be working 8-hour Shifts including both day and evening shifts as well as the occasional weekend.

  • On the job training 4 days a week and also 1 day a week at WKC
  • Commis Chef Apprenticeship standard
